Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing
Evidence-based practice (EBP) is the cornerstone of modern nursing. It integrates the best available research evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences to guide care decisions. Writing a high-quality EBP paper requires strong research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to translate evidence into practice recommendations.
Our EBP Paper Writing Process
Step 1 — Formulate a PICO(T) Question
We work with your clinical scenario to construct a well-structured PICO(T) question (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, Timeframe) that focuses the evidence search precisely.
Step 2 — Systematic Database Search
A structured literature search across CINAHL, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and relevant clinical databases using MeSH terms and Boolean operators, with documented inclusion/exclusion criteria.
Step 3 — Critical Appraisal of Evidence
Each selected study is appraised using validated tools: CASP RCT checklist, CASP Systematic Review checklist, JBI critical appraisal tools, or GRADE evidence quality rating.
Step 4 — Synthesis & Practice Recommendations
Evidence is synthesised into a coherent narrative and translated into actionable, SMART practice recommendations aligned with NHS NICE guidelines and NMC Code standards.
Step 5 — Implementation & Evaluation Framework
Using models such as the Iowa Model of EBP, PDSA cycles, or the PARIHS Framework to outline how recommendations can be implemented and evaluated in a real clinical setting.
Common EBP Topics We Cover
Hand hygiene compliance, pressure ulcer prevention, medication administration safety, falls prevention, sepsis early recognition, pain management, diabetes care, and many more.
